INFLUENCE OF DEPENDENCE EQUATION TYPE ON THE ACCURACY OF CORRELATION BETWEEN MAGNETIC AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF STEEL PRODUCTS

This article presents the results of the steel products properties research through non-destructive testing, based on the dependence of mechanical properties on magnetic ones. The objective of the research was to increase the accuracy of determining the mechanical properties of steel products in a non-destructive way through the use of a polynomial dependence. The correlations used in this work were obtained using regression analysis in Excel. The reliability of increasing the accuracy of determining mechanical properties through the structure-sensitive parameters of the magnetic hysteresis loop (coercive force, maximum magnetic permeability and residual magnetic induction) using a polynomial dependence is confirmed by experimental data. The output parameters of the regression equations were the basic mechanical properties: tensile strength, yield strength and elongation. The use of a polynomial dependence, compared to a linear one, made it possible to reduce the error in determining the properties of steel products from 4% to less than 1%.
